• Local Move Gone Great

I had Mountain Moving & Storage move my apartment last fall and I couldn't be more pleased with my experience. I only moved a few blocks, but these guys pulled out all the stops regardless that they could have carried my furniture just down the street by hand.

All of my belongings were boxed up neatly and orderly, delivered to the right space and nothing was damaged. They took better care of my belongings that I have in prior moves. I also had them help when I delivered a large piece of furniture across town to my apartment at a later date. All precautions were taken and my furniture is in great condition thanks to them. Did I mention that my apartments both were upstairs in vintage (1918 and 1957) buildings with no elevator and VERY narrow stairwells?

The entire staff who helped, from the front end and sales staff to the guys who moved me, all were knowledgeable and professional.  I would (and have) recommended Mountain Moving & Storage to anyone who needs moving. Whether it's down the block or across the country. If I would change anything from my experience, I wouldn't have bothered personally packing the portion of the job that I did and had left it all to these guys. While I was unpacking, you could tell who was the professional and who had packed themself! :)

  • Recommended for Senior Moves

    Good afternoon Mr. Tuohy,

My name is Tina B. and I own a Tacoma area senior move management business where we coordinate moves and life transitions for seniors. I recently coordinated a client's transition (August 31, 2012) to Peninsula Retirement Community in Gig Harbor and she hired Mountain Moving as her preferred movers. I am contacting you to inform you how pleased I was with your staff. Todd, Mike and Jeremy were on time, professional, accommodating and very kind to my client.

I will be recommending Mountain Moving and Storage to my future clients.

    Best regards,

    Tina B.

  • Referral from Coldwell Banker

    Dear Mr. Tuohy,

As a result of reccomendations from Coldwell Banker (concierge service), I contacted three local moving companies for in-home estimates for a local move.

Of the three companies, the one from your company was the most reasonable and the presentation by Jerry L. Convinced us that your company was the one to do the job.

On March 4 as scheduled, your moving team consisting of Boyd, Jesus, and Tony showed up and the move commenced.

This team worked very well together - in harmony and in good humor and careful movement/arrangement/transporting was handled by these very good natured men in a very professional manner.

In addition, I would like to comment that, during the period that Jerry was out of the office (ill), I dealt with Sheryl and found her to be a personable, helpful and knowledgeable member of your company who was able to answer any questions that I had as well as to confirm moving arrangements, during Jerry's absence.

Our compliments to your, your company team and all of those that make things go so well on 'moving' day.  We were very pleased with the results and would appreciate it if you would pass on our THANKS to all those who participated.

  • Thank you from WAMU

I wanted to thank you and the staff at Mountain Moving & Storage Company for everything you did to make our move a successful one. Thank you for being willing to make changes at the last moment, and also for being so flexible with the unusual hours that were required in making the actual move and the cart removal possible (e.g. 6 am in the morning, working on the holiday, etc).

It was a pleasure working with you, and those who coordinated and took part in moving our office.  I'm sure we will do business again in the future, when we wrap things up at our current location.

    Best Regards,

    Executive Assistant

  • Mountain Moving & Storage Packers Sharpen Their Skills

From the proper way to place plates in a box to move them to another state, to the right way to label an international shipping container filled with household items, Mountain Moving packers reviewed them all.

They did so at the Stevens Worldwide Van Lines “Packing Boot Camp,” which attracted movers from moving agents across the country.

The packers spent two days brushing up on skills for packing and securing items for a move and sharing best practices for moving and transporting furniture and other household items.

The Packing Boot Camp took place just before the busy summer moving season.

As many as 60 percent of the nearly 43 million Americans who will move this year will do so between May and September.

Mountain Moving reminds anyone who is moving to be cautious when selecting a mover. Consumers should be cautious to make sure that they deal with reputable movers, and avoid those that make promises or offer pricing that seem too good to be true. Unfortunately, every year thousands of moving customers become victims of unscrupulous movers who don’t live up to the promises they make.

The American Moving & Storage Association, the trade association for the moving and storage industry, notes that one way to differentiate quality movers from potentially rogue moves is to look for the ProMover designation and symbol. ProMover is a consumer protection and certification program that assures that moving companies have agreed to a set of honorable business practices.
